In lviv region, near the Carpathians mountains there is one of the oldest and the most beautiful city- Drohobych. During the period of Kyiv Rus- Drohobych was known as a center of salt industry and has played an important role in the economic life of Central and Eastern Europe.The author of Kyiv-Pechersk Patericon in 1097 wrote that once drove of salt stopped from Galician and Przemysl lands, then "there was no salt throughout the land" and Drogobych saltworks were highest in Przemysl principality.

This city is very famous of it's old Salt Factory(13th century). Drohobych is an ancient city, that hides many treasures, which can find curious traveler. Beautiful gotic st. Barfolomeo church (14th century), powder tower (13th century), wooden catedrales 15-16th century with unique wall paintings, ancient Rynok square with City Hall, narrow cobbled streets, which went famous people, such as writers Ivan Franko and Stefanik, writer and artist Bruno Schulz, scientists Yuriy managed (Kotermak) and Ivan the field, tenor Modest Mentsinskyy not leave anyone indifferent.
