Visit to Shevchenko's grove

During this tour we will visit Shevchenko's grove - marvelous open-air museum of wooden architecture.There are:120 monuments of folk architecture: homes, churches, industrial and office premises. On the area of 84 hectares you can see 6 micro villages and there are: Boikivske, Lemkivske, Gytsylske, Bykovinske, Podilske and Lvivske. During a two-our tour you will see three ethnographic zones "Boikivshchuny", "Lemkivshchuny" та "Gytsyltshchuny". If you will have time and desire, we will continue our tour in other micro villages.

We will start our tour from the Carpathian region, from Boikivshchuna, which is situated not far from Lviva. Here you will see typical villagers houses, ancient buildings and even wooden church. You will find out about ancient school studing and why impolite pupils always standed near their desks without benches.

In the Hutsul village you will see typical "fence". Fully fenced yard was as a fortress and protected against intruders, not only criminals, but also wolves and bears. Lemkivschyna will greet us with a very original building -wooden church. Also we will see forge (active), and you will taste authentic Cossacks porridge if we were lucky.
